Kings of Leon Reschedule Concert after Cutting Dallas Performance Short

Dallas fans were enjoying the Kings of Leon show on Friday night when suddenly lead singer, Caleb Followill said that he needed to take a breather for a minute backstage to throw up and drink a beer. After promising to return in a few moments and play three more songs, Followill never did return to the stage and the concert was ultimately cancelled.

To clear up any rumors that were beginning to spark, Followill made it clear that he was not drunk, he was just hot; and it’s not hard to see why. While running around on-stage and singing his little heart out, the temperature was in the high 90s that night and the band was performing in an outdoor venue at the Gexa Energy Pavillion. It was found later that not only was Followill suffering from heat exhaustion, but also that the temporary condition had caused his vocal chords to seize.

The band was also set to play the following night but that show was cancelled as well. Later, Jared Followill, the band’s bassist, took to Twitter with deep apologies and to say that the cancellation of the two shows were due to more than just illness in the band. Friday’s show has been rescheduled for September 21, 2011, while Saturday’s show is set for the following evening on September 22, 2011.

Update: The Kings Of Leon have cancelled the remainder of the tour for 2011. They have cited that Caleb is suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion but comments from band members make us believe that Caleb, the lead singer, needs substance abuse help.

Pearl Jam & U2 Go to the Movies at the Toronto International Film Festival

The Toronto International Film Festival is always a place for the stars to gather and for some of the biggest movies to get their big premiere. But this September, the event brings even more excitement as it opens with the explosive U2 documentary and continues with an exclusive look behind the scenes of one of the founding bands of alternative rock, Pearl Jam.

When TIFF opens with the U2 documentary From the Sky Down on September 8, fans will get to see an in-depth examination of the band’s release of their album Achtung, Baby, and the impact it had on the band, their business, and the world. The film was directed by Davis Guggenheim, who is most noted for also directing An Inconvenient Truth. This documentary is also the first one in 38 years to open TIFF.

Two days later Pearl Jam fans will be able to gather to see the premiere of Pearl Jam Twenty, another documentary that takes you behind-the-scenes of the band’s formation, their breakup, and their reunion, for the first time ever. So much has already been talked about in regards to this film that it even has a deal to run as a television series after running at the Festival.

With documentaries from two of the most groundbreaking bands in music, this year’s Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most anticipated events yet!

Barry Manilow Rocking In Vegas

From the moment he walked onto the stage in Las Vegas, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Ever the highly acclaimed showman, his entrance was nothing less than grand. He appeared on stage wearing a white suit jacket, black shirt and pants, and black patent leather dress shoes. Somewhere near the middle of the set, he changed into a plum-colored velvet jacket, and then changed back to the white jacket for the finale.

While speaking, his 67 year-old voice was raspy, but still as smooth as silk when he sang. He shone most brightly while playing the piano. His voice was clearer during the quieter songs. My personal favorite was, “Keep Each Other Warm” for which I would have paid the entire price of the Barry Manilow tickets for that.

The concert began with Manilow singing his huge hit song, “Could It Be Magic?” and was followed by “Everything’s Gonna Be All Right.” A medley of “Daybreak,” “Somewhere in the Night,” and “Why Don’t We Live Together?” got the crowd on its feet. When the orchestra lowered their volume for “When October Goes” and “Even Now,” the crowd truly enjoyed the very best of Barry Manilow. His voice was near pitch perfect and filled with emotion. At times the orchestra seemed to nearly drown him out, but they couldn’t compete with Manilow’s voice during “Mandy” and “Can’t Smile.” These two songs seemed to be the hands-down crowd favorites.

There was no way that the audience was going to leave without an encore. Barry Manilow did not disappoint them. He returned to the stage for three more songs beginning with “Copacabana.” He followed that with “One Voice” and left the stage after delivering “It’s a Miracle.”

The years may have taken a small toll on his voice, but Barry Manilow is still a star worth catching. Get your Barry Manilow tickets at TicketSupply.com.

Kenny Chesney: A Country Girl’s Dream

Kenny Chesney did not explode onto the music scene. He was not an overnight sensation, taking more of a slow-but-steady walk into stardom. Over time, that walk has led him right into the hearts of country music fans around the world. Today he ranks as one of the country’s premier performers.

He did not start out as the heart-throb he is today. Instead, he won over fans with his likeable, average-guy personality and songs that were easy to sing along with. He has a way with ballads. His tender renditions of “I Will Stand,” “You Had Me From Hello,” and “All I Need to Know” can melt the heart of every country girl in the world. Everyone who has ever walked down a high school hallway can relate in some way to “The Boys of Fall.”

While his ballads can bring fans to tears, it is perhaps his livelier tunes that have brought him the most popularity. It would be next to impossible to find a country music fan that does not know all the words to, “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “When the Sun Goes Down.”

Kenny Chesney is as real as it gets. Don’t expect lavish costumes and sets. His typical concert appearance is jeans and a t-shirt. His down-to-earth appearance is coupled with an easy going and carefree attitude.

He spends as much time as he can in his home in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Many of his later songs have a definite tropical flavor. It is thought that the island lifestyle was the inspiration for his big hit, “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem.”

Chesney could easily be the guy next door. That is, of course, if the guy next door was an amazing singer/songwriter. And, yes, we do think his tractor is incredibly sexy!

Don’t miss Kenny’s 2011 tour that goes all summer long. Some of the special guests on tour with Kenny will be Zac Brown Band, Uncle Kracker and Billy Currington! Get your Kenny Chesney tickets today!

Taylor Swift Concert is Amazing!

Taylor Swift can perhaps best be summed up in one word, and that word is “real.” In a time when many young stars are best known for their indiscretions and brushes with the law, Swift appears as a breath of fresh air. She seems to be both honest and open, allowing her emotions to come forth in songs. Her youthful innocence is evident in the songs she writes and it is just as apparent in the delivery of those songs.

Many say that her stage presence still has to be refined, but with a star as bright as Swift, there is plenty of time for that. What she may be lacking in experience, she more than makes up for with star power and energy. Taylor Swift appears to be a little in awe of her stardom. She expresses her gratitude to the audience and it is easy to see that she loves what she is doing. Her performance seems to genuinely express her enthusiasm and enjoyment of the music.

It is refreshingly romantic to hear Taylor sing “Tim McGraw” and I personally love her fairytale metaphors. She changes wardrobes enough to be interesting. Whether she has put on a sequined evening dress or her trademark sundress with cowboy boots, she is still the same Taylor Swift that we have come to know and love.

Taylor Swift rocked the stage with hits like “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “Love Story.” The crowd went absolutely wild when she sang “You Belong With Me.” Her mega-hit, “Fearless,” was another huge crowd sing-along favorite. It is one thing to hear Swift on the radio, but it is quite another to see her in concert. Every fan owes is to themselves to watch this country star in person. Her star is sure to shine brightly for years to come! The TicketSupply’s Taylor Swift tickets are going fast so be sure to get them for a location near you!

Paul McCartney Still Rocks!

Maybe it is true that money can’t buy you love, but it can sure buy you a ticket to one of the best musical concerts of all times. From the moment that legendary singer/songwriter Paul McCartney takes the stage, there is a palpable feeling of excitement in the air. His voice remains just as strong, sweet, and pure as it was when he began his career in the 1960s.

Paul’s shy demeanor is quickly replaced by his stage presence. There is nothing timid about the way he belts out songs from his days with Wings and lots of crowd-favorites from his days with the Beatles. Although he brings a band that ably assists with some of the melodies, he can literally be a one-man show. He plays bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, ukulele, mandolin, and piano.

McCartney shows his versatility by adding in some Jimi Hendrix and even a flavor of country music. His music is virtually non-stop throughout the show. He is not known for idle chatter, and he keeps the conversation to a minimum.

The crowd easily connected with McCartney and sang along with every song he played. The loudest audience participation came when he sang, “Hey Jude.” They were also ignited by a moving tribute to fellow Beatles, George Harrison and John Lennon.

As he is approaching 70, who knows how many more concerts Paul McCartney will play? Considering the legendary performer and the quality of the show; if Paul McCartney tickets are available in your area, don’t miss him perform!
