Barry Manilow Rocking In Vegas

From the moment he walked onto the stage in Las Vegas, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Ever the highly acclaimed showman, his entrance was nothing less than grand. He appeared on stage wearing a white suit jacket, black shirt and pants, and black patent leather dress shoes. Somewhere near the middle of the set, he changed into a plum-colored velvet jacket, and then changed back to the white jacket for the finale.

While speaking, his 67 year-old voice was raspy, but still as smooth as silk when he sang. He shone most brightly while playing the piano. His voice was clearer during the quieter songs. My personal favorite was, “Keep Each Other Warm” for which I would have paid the entire price of the Barry Manilow tickets for that.

The concert began with Manilow singing his huge hit song, “Could It Be Magic?” and was followed by “Everything’s Gonna Be All Right.” A medley of “Daybreak,” “Somewhere in the Night,” and “Why Don’t We Live Together?” got the crowd on its feet. When the orchestra lowered their volume for “When October Goes” and “Even Now,” the crowd truly enjoyed the very best of Barry Manilow. His voice was near pitch perfect and filled with emotion. At times the orchestra seemed to nearly drown him out, but they couldn’t compete with Manilow’s voice during “Mandy” and “Can’t Smile.” These two songs seemed to be the hands-down crowd favorites.

There was no way that the audience was going to leave without an encore. Barry Manilow did not disappoint them. He returned to the stage for three more songs beginning with “Copacabana.” He followed that with “One Voice” and left the stage after delivering “It’s a Miracle.”

The years may have taken a small toll on his voice, but Barry Manilow is still a star worth catching. Get your Barry Manilow tickets at TicketSupply.com.
