Even if you can’t picture Kylie Minogue off the top of your head, the chances are very good that you know all the lyrics to at least one of her songs. She’s the pop star responsible for bringing “Loco-Motion” to the music scene in 1987; a song that’s still a regular for wedding and dance concert playlists. More recently though, Minogue has made the news – first for dumping her manager of 25 years, and then through rumors that she’s quitting music.

Very little is being said about the split between Minogue and her manager, Terry Blamey, except that it was “amicable.” Blamey must have taken the split the wrong way because shortly after he released a statement, in which he seems to have gotten all his facts wrong.

“Kylie has decided to pull back slightly from the pressures of her career and devote more time to herself and her acting career. This is not to say she will be retiring from music, just taking a bit of a break,” said Blamey’s statement.

If it were true, it wouldn’t be such a reach. In her homeland of Australia, Minogue was a child actress before she became a household name with her role in the soap opera, “Neighbours.” But it turns out that Kylie has no ambition to return to acting, and she was quick to clear up the rumor.

“Not quitting,” was all the pop star posted on her Twitter account.

Her publicist, Fairfax, then later also shed light on the story. “Kylie was never quitting music and she tweeted that overnight,” they said.
