Many Def Leppard fans haven’t heard the band’s album Hysteria since it was released in 1987, but now they’ll have a chance to hear it in its entirety — and they’ll be able to see it all happen live too. Because as of March 22nd, Def Leppard is taking the show to Las Vegas, where they’ll take up residency at The Joint at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel so that they can present Viva Hysteria! live!
The show will be comprised of two sets, created to each give fans a taste of what they’ve been missing for the past couple of decades. During the first set they’ll tease audiences with songs from other, non-Hysteria albums, although they’re reluctant to give up any details on just what songs those will be.
The second set however, will be what people are really coming to see, even if it isn’t going to be full of one surprise after another. Of course that set will include some of the biggest Hysteria songs including “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Love Bites,” and “Animal,” along with the other lesser-known songs from the album. But in addition to taking up a residency in Sin City, there’s more for the band to get excited about, too.
Joe Elliott, the band’s frontman, says that he believes the band will have more time together, seeing as how they’ll be playing for three days before taking a break for four days. And that small break may allow them to make new music!
“I don’t know if we’ll do an album,” he told Rolling Stone. “Maybe the way to go is put one or two tracks out at a time and see how it goes. Almost like a 7-inch single. We’ve got a golden opportunity. We’ve got ample opportunity to look each other square in the eye and say ‘what you got?’ We’re back to that rehearsal-room vibe.”
