Daughtry, Three Doors Down, POD: Can You Handle It?
Some of the best rock might just be about to stop into a city near you, and the only question is whether or not you can handle this many rock hits all at once, and all by different bands. That rock comes by way of a tour that’s being headlined by Daughtry and Three Doors Down — with P.O.D. coming along for much of the ride.
The tour kicks off on November 17 in Robinsonville, MS and is currently scheduled for 19 total stops, ending in Anaheim, CA on December 15. P.O.D. will be along for most of those dates, with the exception of November 27 — December 3.
For Daughtry, it will mean not much rest as they’ve just finished off a tour in Europe where they accompanied Nickelback. They are currently supporting Break the Spell, their third studio effort that was released late last year. It’s from this record that fans can expect much of the playlist to be taken from.
As for Three Doors Down, they’re working on a greatest hits album currently, and with songs like “Kryptonite,” “When I’m Gone,” and “One Light,” the band has promised that’s just what concert-goers are going to get.

No Doubt Pulls Controversial Video for New Single “Looking Hot”
No Doubt, a mainstay of pop music for last fifteen years, has officially pulled the now-controversial music video for their new single “Looking Hot” after it was broadcast on YouTube. Some in the Native American community claim that they were offended by the video, which depicts lead songstress/siren Gwen Stefani as a Native American girl kidnapped by a pair of dubious cowboys (played by guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young) only to be rescued by the Native American chief (bassist Tony Kanal). The band promptly removed the video at the behest of the user community who commented that the video was offensive, even racist.
No Doubt issued a statement shortly after the debacle saying, “As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history…Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people…We sincerely apologize to the Native American community and anyone else offended by this video.”
Obviously, No Doubt has a long track record of pushing the envelope in terms of their music and style, but never of intentionally offending anyone. In the wake of the “Looking Hot” video’s demise, the band is still going strong and is currently on tour to promote their new album Push and Shove.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2012 Tour Tickets Still Available
Haven’t heard of Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Have you been a fan for years, but have never had the chance to see them live? If either of these are true, or if you’re just dying for yet another chance to see them once again, now is the time to get tickets for their Lost Christmas Eve tour.
The Trans-Siberian orchestra is known for the amazing, pyrotechnical rock concerts that they’ve been putting on ever since the late 90s. Fog machines, lasers, and lights are always a part of the show, and you can be sure that on Lost Christmas, you’ll see more of the same. It may be because no other effects would really go as well against the band’s hard core heavy metal rock; or maybe just because the band knows what it takes to put on a truly incredible show.
Like many of their shows from the past, concerts on this TSO tour will be divided up into two unofficial acts. From the first they’ll be playing fan favorites from “The Lost Christmas Eve” album such as “Music Box Blues,” “Lost Christmas Eve,” and “Christmas Nights in Blue.” For the second act they’ll be performing other favorite songs from past albums so that fans can get a good mix of all the songs they love so much.
The major stops along the tour include Cincinnati, Chicago, Las Vegas, Tampa, and Houston, to name just a few. Tickets are still available but you can bet they won’t be for long. TSO always sells out in a hurry, so get your tickets today!
The Jonas Bros. LIVE at Pantages Theatre in L.A. Nov. 27 & 28
When the Jonas Brothers announced that they were going to be putting on a show at the famed Radio City Hall on October 11, it took about ten minutes for the show to sell out. Fans brought that excitement with them to the show that night and it’s given the Brothers a boost to do a couple more U.S. shows. This time they’ll be at another historic American theater — the Pantages.
“We were completely humbled and blown away by the fan response when we announced our New York show,” the group said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show when making the announcement. “The energy at Radio City was so incredible; we just couldn’t wait to do another U.S. show. We are thrilled that we’ll be able to share that same excitement in Los Angeles!”
Those shows will be held on November 27 and 28, with pre-sales for tickets going on sale today; and general sales beginning this Saturday, November 3. But why just a few shows here and there from this massive boy band?
The Jonas Bros say that they’re just getting geared up for a full tour next year, although they did not reveal whether or not it would be a world tour; or when that tour would begin. For now, they seem happy enough to tease fans with huge dates, and get them pumped up for anything else the Brothers may soon be announcing.
Tickets for Taylor Swift’s 2013 Red Tour on Sale Nov. 16!
It’s been just over a week that Taylor Swift’s album “Red” has been available in stores and in iTunes, and already she has announced dates for the tour by the same name. And while there have only been 58 cities announced so far, (that’s right, only 58,) from the sounds of it, Taylor has plans to continue adding to this tour.
Making the announcement on a special edition of 20/20, All Access Nashville with Katie Couric, Taylor announced her stadium/arena Red tour, which will begin on March 13th. That’s Taylor’s lucky number for those of you that didn’t know. And while the dates largely include cities within the United States (and 3 in Canada so far,) from the sounds of it, we can expect more dates to crop up along the way.
While making the announcement Taylor said, “We are starting with 58 shows in 29 states and 3 provinces. We’re starting on March 13th in Omaha, Nebraska, and we’re going through September — so far.”
Taylor said “so far” and “as of right now,” a lot during her announcement on 20/20, so fans can expect that the pop-country crooner is working hard at getting more dates added. And, she’s already convinced Ed Sheeran to come with her. Sheeran collaborated with Swift on the Red album, and he now has a “Red” tattoo on his forearm that is identical to the album’s cover art. Sheeran will be coming with Taylor for all dates of the tour.
“I didn’t think I could be any more excited about my “Red” album,” said Taylor recently. “But then I start thinking about how I’m going to put the new show together for the Red tour. I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can’t wait to share the new show with all of my fans!”
For anyone who saw Taylor Swift on her Speak Now tour, you know that bringing music to life is what this girl does best. Tickets go on sale November 16 for select cities!
Taylor Swift to Co-Host Upcoming Grammy Nomination Concert
Taylor Swift, the six-time Grammy-winning country-pop superstar has been tapped to co-host a special concert event for the 2013 Grammy nominations.
Grammy producers’ choice to add the 22-year-old country music phenom as a co-host for the special event comes as no surprise, given her extraordinary success in the genre that the producers have chosen to focus on this year. For the first time in the five-year history of the show, the producers have changed venues from the pop music Mecca of Los Angeles to the country music capital of Nashville for the iconic celebration. She will share the podium with LL Cool J to announce the nominations in several categories during the live awards show, which will air live from the Bridgestone Arena on December 5 at 10:00 p.m. EST.
Taylor Swift will take time off from her already busy schedule to return to Nashville for the live broadcast. It looks as if the down-to-earth megastar will be returning to her musical roots before setting off across North America next year on tour to promote her latest album, Red. It was only last month that Swift unveiled her new single ” to the delight of fans during the 2012 MTV Music Video Awards. Swift is also a fitting choice since she was the last country artist to win a Grammy for “Album of the Year” for her 2008 oeuvre Fearless.
There are several top artists slated to perform during the show, including rising country star Luke Bryan and current radio favorite Maroon 5, with many other Grammy-nominated acts to be announced shortly.
Eminem Tips His Hat to New Album
Fans of Eminem can rejoice! It’s been almost two years since Em came out with Recovery, and some were starting to think he’d slipped back into hiding again. Apparently, he was just waiting for the World Series to be over.
It was this past weekend that Em added a special edition Marshall Mathers baseball hat to his online store. Typically this wouldn’t be news, as Eminem’s been running the clothing label Shady Limited for the past several years. But this hat was special. Not just because it’s fashioned in iconic Detroit Tigers style, but because it’s got clues of a new album coming from Em himself.
The hat is extremely similar to the hat the Tigers where, Em’s hometown baseball team. On the front instead of the Tigers “D” logo, Em has placed a backwards “E” to represent his own name. But it’s not what’s on the front that fans will be interested in — it’s the side panel!
Here Em has inscribed all the years that he came out with a solo album. It begins with Infinite in 1996 and goes all the way until 2010 to represent Recovery. But there’s one more date there. Underneath his last released solo album date stands the year “2013,” leading many to guess (correctly, we assume) that Em will have a new album due out next year.
The hat is currently on sale at Em’s online store. The hat sells for $30 and the description on the site reads, “in honor of the big games and the hometown team’s return to The D.” A portion of the proceeds will go to The Marshall Mathers Foundation, an organization that helps disadvantaged youth in Michigan, Em’s home state.

Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber Headline Annual Jingle Ball Festival
Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift are two of the biggest names in music right now, and they’ve both got a lot of stuff going on. The Biebs is currently selling out stadiums on his “Believe” tour, while Taylor just released her Red, her fourth studio album yesterday, with a tour also in the works. But both stars will take breaks from doing their own thing to come together to headline at this year’s annual Jingle Ball at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
The event is held every year, but this will be the first time ever that it’s spread out over two days — both filled with a ton of great music. Swift will take the stage on the first night, December 1 with Ne-Yo, Ellie Goulding, One Republic, and Wonder Girls featuring Akon also performing. In addition to that, an announcement was also made that a “surprise superstar band” will also be there to play along, but you’ll have to go if you want to find out who it is.
After that though, there’s still an entire night of music to be had as Justin Bieber headlines the second night with Flo Rida, The Wanted, Ke$ha, fun., Afrojack, Owl City, Zedd and Psy also performing.
Both Swift’s and Bieber’s current projects have already been huge successes. Swift’s first single release off Red was “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” has had the most downloads for any female artist ever; while Bieber’s Believe album had the biggest debut sales week of any album release for 2012 when it came out in June.
If you haven’t yet been to the Jingle Ball in L.A., this is a great year to make your own debut appearance!
Grunge is Back in a Big Way!
It might have been a couple of decades since people have worn flannel shirts with their ripped jeans, but the bands that started it all have never left. Now, two of the bands that established grunge music, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, are rumored to be bringing it back to main stage. And they’re going to be doing it together!
The rumors that Soundgarden and Pearl Jam are going to be touring together are all just rumors for right now. But when the two bands made separate announcements that they were releasing albums at around the same time, it was just a matter of time before people put things together. Soundgarden is set to release King Animal in November; and Jeff Ament, bassist for Pearl Jam, has recently said that his band is about halfway through their new album.
But even those tidbits of information aren’t enough to get the rumor mill started. There’s got to be more, and there is. Matt Cameron is the drummer for both bands, and he has stated that he is fully committed to both. And it’s also thought that both bands will be touring will be touring after their album releases; and Cameron very obviously can’t perform in two places at once. So it does fit that these two would be teaming up.
According to Radar.com, Soundgarden also pushed their release date back, saying that they were “fine tuning” the album. But Radar thinks “they were waiting on their brother band Pearl Jam to finish things up.”
It is still all pure speculation. But if the two of the biggest names in grunge team up together, it’s sure to be almost too much for fans to handle!
